The Answer To The Antichrist Spirit

Peter received the greatest revelation ever given to a man.

Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the Living God.

After voicing this revelation, Peter chastised the Lord for talking about the suffering He was going to endure.
Jesus then turned to Peter and addressed Satan commanding him to,

“Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s.”

Peter, who had been in the very presence of Jesus Christ for years, was wrong.
So wrong.
Why ?

The spirit of antichrist.

Through this exchange between Jesus and Peter, we have a glimpse into the seductiveness of the antichrist spirit.
This spirit is so seductive that it will make men say things, in the very presence of Jesus Christ, that are the exact opposite of what He is saying.

Think about that for a moment.

The spirit of antichrist will deny the word of the Lord…in His Very Presence.
It happens in church all the time.
Pastors, prophets, and teachers do it all the time.

But Jesus gave us the answer to the seductiveness of this spirit.
The answer is not comforting.
It won’t pad your bank account.
It won’t tickle your ego.
You can’t build a ministry…or call yourself a reformer…or a revivalist….on this answer.

In fact, without embracing and living in the truth of this answer, you will misunderstand the very Person of Jesus Christ.

You may even hunger and long for His presence but still not understand His ways.
You may worship and still be swayed by another voice.

The answer ?

Deny yourself.
Lay down your life.
Take up your cross and…follow Him.

The spirit of antichrist won’t speak of these things.
In fact, the antichrist spirit will disparage such teachings.
It loves any message that centers on man
Or the things of man
Or the philosophies of man
Or anything other than the pattern and Person of Jesus Christ.

The way of the cross. Self-denial. Dying before you die. Suffering before glory.

Paul said this…

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
